VNXe remove link aggregation
Hi,
I guess this is kind of a stupid question but hey maybe this could work. A VNXe is currently running with one iSCSI server for each SP. Ethernet interfaces for the SPs are aggregated. Due to bad design from the beginning i would like to remove the aggregated interface and have two interfaces for each SP.
So what happens on the VNXe / iSCSI server when the aggregation is disabled? Will it set the IP adresses on eth2 and have eth3 unconfigured?
Would host connectivity be disrupted? I guess so but for how long? Would the hosts be able to re-establish connections within a reasonable amount of time, below 60 secs?
Would it be possible to carry out such reconfiguration without taking down the connected hosts? I guess not.
cheers

Hi Frejen,
As per your query on this, if you have two IP address configured on single iSCSI server with LACP configured it will use first port as primary port.
As per VNXe end configuration, breaking of LACP requires same on switch configuration as well. That means, we need to have LACP disabled on both VNXe and switch port connection to VNXe.
To answer your question is that breaking of LACP configuration will disrupt the connectivity and IP address will be configured to eth2. You may manually change port from iSCSI servers details.
As soon as LACP is broken from switch end as well, host should reconnect with storage automatically
