Do you know if there is a value for I/O Timeout that is recommended for UNIX/Linux Hosts connected to VPLEX LUNs?
If yes, can you please let me know what the value is. We have servers with both Native Multipathing as well as servers with PowerPath in our environment. Any input from your end would be most appreciated.
There are two main references for this sort of configuration information.
1) The VPLEX Procedure Generator (mainly for array and other configuration and provisioning procedures)
2) EMC Host connectivity guides which are not specific to VPLEX but will have information on all EMC arrays as well as VPLEX. A few direct links listed below, but you can find others by simply searching for "Host Connectivity Guide" on EMC Powerlink.

Kennedy,

In addition you will want to validate you meet the VPLEX Host support requirements listed in the VPLEX ESSM
which from a host perspective is very relaxed in terms of HOST HBA requirements.
excerpt below based on the Nov ESSM linked above.
Hosts Servers/Adapters •
All Fibre Channel HBAs from Emulex and QLogic (2 Gb/s or greater) and Brocade (8 Gb/s or greater). All Cisco CNAs (10 Gb/s or greater) a.
Any EMC or vendor-supplied OS-approved driver/firmware/BIOS is allowed. EMC recommends using latest E-Lab Navigator listed OSapproved
driver/firmware/BIOS versions listed for VMAX or VNX. Adapter must support link speed compatible with selected switch (fabric).
All host systems are supported where the vendor allows the host/OS/adapters combination.
• VPLEX does not support host direct connections and requires HBAs to be connected to supported fabric switches.
