Quest Print-IT - Portrait/Landscape issue

Hi,

I'm looking to deploy Print-IT printers using the Universal Printer drive in a Windows 2003 R2 Terminal Service environment... I've got a Print cluster with all the Windows Printers on it and a dedicated Print-IT print server for vWorkspace. When I create printer on hte Print-IT server from teh Clustered printer it all works fine... fantastic infact with no problems except one...

If a user prints in Portrait, the default for our Windows printing, the job goes through fine, however if the user selects landscape the job remains in portrait... The only way I've worked out how to workaround this is to use a separate Print-IT printer, with different settings on teh Print-IT server, which isn't ideal for admin or the users.

Is there an issue with changing orientation with Print-IT printers?

    Hello Caleb,

    I've never seen that issue myself.

    One thing that you could try as a workaround is to right click on the vworkspace system tray icon (on the client) and select "Apply additional printer properties"

    Okay..

    I've narrowed this down to the Ricoh Universal PCL6 Print driver but have no idea now to fix this...

    Just to explain what does happen... Although the job deos print in landscape it's printed in portrait... i.e. in the top half of a portrait page... Useless... It does work with the HP universal drvier.

    I'll contact Ricoh and see if they've got an updated driver.

    Hi Caleb,

    We are aware that using PCL6 print drivers can cause print problems in some cases. In this event the recommendation is to try a PCL5 driver or the manufacturers universal driver (see you have this already).
