I know your original post is from 2007 and it is now January 2010 but I just resolved the problem with my Optiplex sx270n audio driver not working.

I searched for the file R145551.EXE within Dell's website and could not find it.  I finally used Google to locate it at http://ftp.dell.com/audio/

I installed it and now the card works fine with Windows Vista installed.

The purpose of this post is that hopefully the next person who has this problem will find this post and resolve their issue more easily.

    Thanks

Downloaded the 145149.exe file from Dell site for Win Vista/7 x64 and during install I got the following error.

    the file c:\dell\drivers\r145149\i386\devsetup.exe is missing

Looked at unzip folder and found an AMD64 folder that had a DevSetup.exe file but it gave me a version compatability error message. There was no "i386" folder. I am installing on a Win 7 x64 OS on a GX280. I could see where the drive might not work but the missing file error is not acceptable. It seems that Dell needs to repackage the driver so that the i386 folder actually exists. The GX280 with 4 gig ram is a viable PC and Dell should have written a Win 7 x86 & x64 driver that can not fail for it instead of the I got that does.
