I have tried to install Chessmaster 5000 and it goes well until I get a little pop-up saying "Installing ODBC Software", at which point it hangs up. This is more than one error message but the system wants to report the message below:

szModVer : 0.0.0.0 offset : 00000000

I was able get Myst and  Riven to install and run using the compatibility option, but this game doesn't want to work. Do I need to spring for a newer version

Posting this here because it appear to be a XP issue. Thanks for any ideas
