Ever once and a while, when opening IE 6, CPU usage will get stuck at 100% and not come down. Also it takes forever to load a web page. When this is happening I open Netscape and that program doesn’t have any problems loading pages fast. Closing IE and reopening it doesn’t help. The only fix is to restart the computer. Does anyone know what’s causing this and or how to fix it?
Thanks

Yea, I installed XP last night at noticed that too. Has anyone else encountered this issue? I suspect it has something to do with applications not being completely compatible with XP at this point. Until developers start developing off an XP base, I suspect we'll see intermitent problems.
This one caught my attention, however. I had to reboot to get the CPU down from a "stuck" 100%
I'm having the same problem with my 4550, except it happens randomly. I found people on another board with the same problem, and it was suggested that we should look in the processes section of task manager, find what's eating up the cpu usage, and kill it (among other ideas). I did this and found the "system" using it up. Tried to end it, although it sure didn't seem right, but apparently that's not possible.
It's becoming a real problem for me, sometimes it doesn't seem to make much difference, but often it does. The only thing I can do to get going again is to restart. Any ideas?
