Right click on the DVD drive left click properties- Recording tab-
Check "Enable CD Recording on this drive"
If that does not work, is the drive recognised in My Computer? If it is, try this
Open My Computer, right click on DVD drive & select "create shortcut.
Now it's on the desktop.
Right click on it & "CUT".
Now right click Start & select Explore.
Find your Sendto folder & right click it & select "Paste".
Now your DVD drive should be your right click "send to" command.
You'll need a DVD in the drive to be able to use the command.
.
If you use your regular CD/DVD burning program (e.g. Roxio) and create a "data" CD or DVD you can do it that way. This is the way I burn data CD or DVD's.
Inspiron 16 5630 Laptop and WD22TB4 Docking Station
Self-built desktop for recording studio application
I did this just yesterday...... I burnt all "my documents" onto dvd media with my Roxio Easy Media Creator software. Worked great... Then I either store that disk in a protective sleeve and put it in a safe place, or sometimes I'll install those files into a folder called "backup folder" to my seconday computer.
I make periodic backups just in case something goes screwey.
