I was unaware that i should create a recovery disc using Dell Backup and Recovery Applicationafter buying a laptop (15r 7520) & i hope that i am not late because after i received my laptop i activated windows 8 & partitioned my hard disk (1 TB )in to another 400 gb using disk management. I did not copied or installed anything into laptop other than google chrome.Can i still use Dell Backup and Recovery application for factory backup? And i found the application installed on my laptop is of version 1.0.0.2 & on website its 1.0.0.4.So should i need to update to new version before using factory back up?
You can give it a try it may or may not let you create media. Install the latest version as there were some problems with the earlier version.
If not create an image using the free trial of Acronis that will at least give you something to fall back on (you can still restore to the image after the trial has expired).
You should also request a Windows 8 Reinstallation DVD from Dell Technical Support in your region if you haven't already done so. See for more information:
