Hi! I have the same machine, an Inspiron 1501. This is something that happens to me as well. For unknown reasons, Vista just stops working. As this happens about twice a day, I've just gotten in the habit of rebooting each time. Have you looked in the event viewer? Mine shows no problems, maybe yours is picking something up?
