Enter key not working

I have a user that uses certain programs to telnet into switches,  On some of the switches the username and password is just "enter", "enter".  For some reason the enter key will not work on these two programs.  Any suggestions?  It works fine on other programs.

    I would like to say there is probably a fluke in the software.  I know that it is a pain not using the "enter" key but, are you able to use the "tab" key, so that you can move from button to button.  Also, if you CAN use the "tab" key, if you press on the "spacebar" it will act like somebody is using the mouse left click.
