Google page won't save preferences

When I try to change the settings on Google so that it "does not provide query suggestions in search box", it doesn't stay that way. I'll go back and it will still be displaying them. So I go back and do it again, and YES I am saving the preferences. That's what it's supposed to be doing, but it's not consistent.

 

How can I fix it so it keeps those settings?

    fashionluvr:  The problem may reside in your security settings.  In Internet options, set your cookie options on the lowest setting and then enter the google preferences.  After doing this, reset your cookie setting to medium or medium high.  If this doesn't help, allow the website in your AV/firewall.
