I am going to spring for a new computer before too long this fall before my chances to get XP again run out. I will have a couple of Dells that are still working...an 8400 and 4600...and I would like to recycle them if possible or take them in for salvage. Can anyone tell me a good erase program that I can use to selectively delete personal information but keep the operating system and the major programs that came with the program...not all the junk added on by Dell.

 

A free program would be excellent, but don't mind paying a modest amount for a good one. Thanks for any advice.
