Internet connectivity
Here we go:
Neighbor kid blew up his computer surfing rogue porn sites
I installed Ad-Aware, new version of Norton Antivirus. Got rid of tons of stuff.
PC working ok except for the fact that I cannot get onto the web.
I can ping so TCP/IP is working. However, no DNS resolving. Tried netsh to see if I could clear up TCP/IP and start over since "Uninstall" is unavailable. No good. Ran winsockxp utility to try cleaning up winsock corruption. No good.
Tried uninstalling NIC. Windows automatically reinstalled TCP/IP when New Hardware Found...still in the same state.
Something is obviously corrupt in the Registry.
Help me. Please.

UPDATE: After speaking with DELL XPS support and messing around for another hour or so, we all decided that this machine had so many nasty things on it that it would be best to blow it up and reinstall Windows. And that's exactly what we did. Case closed!
