Actually, seems that Update 3 is already released.

I just got it through the Java applet in Control Panel>Update tab.

Once installed, remember to uninstall Java (TM) 6 Update 2 via Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs. (It is unnecessary, and represents a potential security risk).

You should get a balloon message from the task bar.You can also check java in the control panel.

Cool. Is there a way that I can be notified when newer versions of java come out?

Thank you for your help. One last question, when downloading and installing new updates for java, are old updates first removed if nessary and then the new update is downloaded and installed?

I always remove older versions first.

I also find it best to remove the main program and all traces of it first.
