This could be related to your Security program seeing this change as possible spyware.  What program(s) are you running?

I don't use ZA anymore, but from what I keep reading, that program has gotten really intrusive.  Thats where I owuld look deeper and make sure you scan for spyware.

    Here's a thought:

If you're going to use the straight classic view for everything (windows, start menu, taskbar etc.), try disabling the XP Themes service.

Go to Start | Run and type in "services.msc" (without the quotes).
Scroll down to "Themes" in the right-hand pane, double-click on it and in the "Startup type" field select "disabled". In the "service status" field hit the "Stop" button. This will stop the service and prevent it from restarting at every boot.

For good measure, you may want to reboot.

See if this doesn't allow the classic theme to stick.

To undo the changes, simply reverse the above steps.

NOTE: Disabling the Themes service shouldn't cause any problems but, as a general rule, don't mess around with disabling XP services unless you know exactly what you're doing as severe problems could result if you make a mistake.

Thanks, that seems to have done the trick. I rebooted twice which should have brought up the xp scheme once and it did not

    Much appreciated
