I have an old Dimension 2300 running Windows XP.  Often the sound capability disappears, and, so far, the only way I can get it back (only temporarily) is to uninstall the sound device and then re-boot.  The sound device is SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio.  How can I fix it so it doesn't quit all the time?
