"My Computer" icon starts automatically upon bootup.

Hi, hope someone can help me with this problem.  Everytime I start my Dell Inspiron 8600 using Windows XP Home Edition the "My Computer" icon always starts up.  I went to Startup folder and it is empty.  No indications under MSCONFIG of this process. Appreciate any help.

    Hi Airborne,
     
    While I could not get an exact resolution to your problem, there are a couple of Microsoft KB articles which are similar to issue you are facing. However, they deal with editing the registry and the same needs to be done with extreme care.
     
    The "My Documents" folder automatically opens every time that you log on to a Windows XP Service Pack 2-based computer
     
    System32 Folder Opens When Logging on to Windows XP, Windows 2000, or Windows NT 4.0

    Thanks, but neither of those worked.  I'm still all ears for any advice you may have.  Thank you for replying.  I know that I'll find a solution via this forum.
