it seems I made the wrong decision by purchasing the new Precision 2400 with Vista 64:robotmad:, just after the instalation of a few progams (Acrobat Reader, Sandra, ...) the trouble started. An MS update was started, I confirmed and from than on I saw a lot of grey and blue screens, self repair messages and other nice things.
I decided to instal Vista new (Verdammt. I can't belive it, I forgot to order the recovers CD as well:smileysurprised:), know I have no access to the internet.
To click through the dungle of Dell-Links was as useless as waiting for a miracle, Support exists on the screens, but no way to receive it or to get with someone in contact. With the old Inspiron I never had any problem at all, therefor I never thought about service support.
I guess this might be the last time I purchased a business notebook from DELL, at least I might have to go back to XP, I never had any compareable problem with.
Questions:
where do I get now the corret software for the net component?
There is no Recovery cd, just a Reinstallation DVD for Vista. You did not have to order it. It should be with the disks that came with your computer. If you don't have it, contact Dell by phone. Your computer also came with a Restore Partition that can return the computer to "as shipped" condition. Try that first before you try to reinstall vista. Directions
here.
