Quicken Backup
When I click the backup icon on my Quicken, it used to go to my CDRW drive, and rewrite the backup files. Now it wants to go to the regular cd drive, and will not back up to the RW disks. I have tried a new formatted disk, an nothing. It acts like it is backing up to something, but not my CDRW drive. I think the drive works ok otherwise. it worked properly for 4 months. Any ideas? Thanks

Before you tear your hair out over this, the easiest way to backup is to a folder on your hard drive, then write to cd if necessary. Rewriteable cd's are extremely unreliable as backups and get more unreliable the more you overwrite. You should use the cd writer only for permanent copies of backups. From Quicken: Before you can back up to CD-R or CD-RW, you must configure your CD-RW drive to work like an alternate hard disk drive. When you're done, you should be able to copy files from your hard disk drive to a CD-R or CD-RW. In addition, for many operating systems, you must install a third-party program to enable your computer to copy files from your hard disk drive to a CD-R or CD-RW.
Maybe your drive is no longer configured as an alternate hard disk & Quicken doesn't see the drive any more or your cd writing software isn't working correctly.
