sirdudeness, What Norton program are you referring to? If it's Norton AntiVirus it's not likely that your son has done anything to the files. If you suspect that there may be some spyware on your system from his surfing, you can clean that readily. Download Ad-aware from here and Spybot from here. Check online for updates to their databases then run them and delete all the spyware they identify. It would help if you told how you determined that files are damaged.

I'm running Norton2003, that I am also having a problem with, but that is another issue......

when I ran Norton I found a rather large list in the backed up files list, Trojan Horses and what have ya, along with two quarantined items, I do run Spyware Dr, and this did take care of all the spyware problems

What is the "backed up files list?" I'm also running NAV 2003. What are you clicking on in Norton to access that list?

Okay. Click to select them (I believe you can use the standard Windows shortcut by clicking on the first item in the list, scrolling down to the last and holding down the Shift key while clicking it, which should select the entire list, or hold down the Ctrl key while clicking each item to select more than one). Once it is selected, click Delete in the upper menu bar. You can do this for both the Backup Items and Quarantined Items. That will remove them from your computer. They are only available in the event you find a way to repair them and wish to do so then bring them back into the system. (This rarely happens.)

No, there's nothing to worry about. Anything that Norton puts into Quarantine is nothing you need. (So your son can be off the hook.)
