This morning I received my new Inspiron 1525 notebook running Vista 32-bit.  All the specs are the minimum you can get for this model, except it has 2 GB RAM.  Everything has been fairly smooth with one exception.  About every 1 or 2 minutes, a notification will pop up on the system tray (it may be called something else in Vista, but it was the system tray in XP - I mean the area in the lower right corner by default, with the clock and other small icons).  It pops up with a beep, then disappears after about 1 second with another beep.  When I mouse over it, it says "Safely Remove Hardware"

From digging around a bit I read this has something to do with removable hardware like flash drives or other external storage?  I have not installed anything like that.  The laptop is straight out of the box, with my only additions being Firefox, Adobe Flash Player, and an IM client.  This thing is really annoying me, can anyone offer some information as to what may be causing it.  I am quite new to Vista, having used OSX for the past 3 years, and XP before that.
