so i have checked all the archives and alot of people suffer from not being able to come out of standby, i cant see any cure, so what do i do? what does everyone else do? just not use standby anymore, crazy...:smileysurprised:
Standby has historically not been a reliable mode on desktop systems. If it works it can be used but the standard advice is that if it once fails it is a waste of time to try to recover it and the best course of action is to simply not use it but rather to set the hard drive and monitor to power down after a period of inactivity the user selects.
sorry, dont laugh its a dell 3000 on xp igb ram fx5200 card 2007wfp monitor, so just set it to shut down on its own after a set amount of time and forget about standby,
