Start up problem
Hello Ive got a big problem.
My computer doesn't start up anymore..
Bios screen loads and after that it shows the scrolling windows vista thing without the vista picture above and it keeps loading or sometimes it goes to black screen after loading..
Safe mode or last working configuration gives the same..
When I try to repair or re-install vista with the original cd the setup doesnt start (I get a black screen with only the white mouse cursor) Ive tried anything..
please help me..
Not too many articles on blackscreens, here are the main reason's that I have found on the issue, there is one other but it is specific to certain models other than yours.
3. Video driver or video hardware.
4. Other hardware malfunction
since you cannot boot safe mode, try "enable low resolution video"
Run the Dell diagnostics from the F8 menu, extended tests if you can.
Here is diagnostic software that can be run from bootable media, be sure to read "additional Information"

Please post your model of Dell, so others can help you.
Is SP1 installed?
Did you install an new software just prior to this black screen problem? If so, what?
