Transferring program from old computer

I just received new dell 3000.  Before i unplugged old computer i burned programs and files onto cd.  I am mainly concerned about loading quickbooks program i need to use.  When i put the cd in the dell, it shows the program files and everything but i cannot get it to install the program onto the computer.  I do not still have the original disc that i installed quickbooks onto the old computer.  I can open the files on the cd, but i assume there is something special so it will not load the install wizard?  Is there any way i can get the program from my old computer to the new one with out having to buy a new quickbooks disc?  would it help to have the on-line tech support that they can look into my system and maybe find a way to install the program from my computer?

    dstencel,

You cannot simply copy a program from one computer to another, it must be installed on the new computer. You will have to purchase a new copy of Quickbooks.

Software has to be installed from the original CDs so that the proper entries can be made into the Windows registry on the new system.  You will have to purchase a new CD.  You can contact the vendor and see if they can provide one, but usually if you lose the disk, you have to buy a new one.
