Purchased a new E1505 in Dec and last week recieved Vista upgrade from Dell. Ran assistant dvd OK, inserted upgrade and would go smoothly up to 29% of unpacking files. Message would say unable to boot past this point. Have 1GB memory, 256 ATI card and 40 gb of free hard disk space. MCE runs without any problems. Any ideas? Thanks
My E1505 was delivered in December and I received the Dell Vista upgrade last week. Upgrade went fine after getting past the issue where the Dell Vista Advisor would error trying to upgrade my BIOS.
My laptop has 2 Gig of memory. The disk checks for system compatability and space, so it should read and unpack the files.
Sorry, can't help. Just letting you know my E1505 of the same vintage worked.
Hi !! I have e1505 with intel 950 graphics. I loaded Vista Ultimate last night and had a slight problem installing antivirus. It would not install. This morning I tried again and everything working perfect. I got a performance score of 3.0. I did an upgrade and not the full install. I have 2gb 667mhz memory. Anti Virus wants to restart the computer so I will be back to post again.
