I recently purchases a 1521 with Vista, not knowing I could have gotten XP. Most of my software is not compatible and all in all I would rather use XP. how can I downgrade to Xp and is there going to be an issue with hardware compatiblility, I have a Dell XP disk is this what I would use?
It is a version provided to me by a IS person who purchased it, my question is whether this is the way i would go about installing it. The disk says it does not contain the drivers.
Microsoft are working the books on this one I'm afraid. Your copy of XP doesn't actually belong to you, it belongs to the PC (and when that PC dies, that copy of XP dies also). You would need to get their permission to transfer it across from. It's been done before but the rules vary depending on your situation and/or country.
I have a brand new Nero 7 that I bought right before my old Dell died. I also have a adobe Acrobat I think version 4, the Palm software for my tungsten, umm and a couple more I can 't think of at the moment.
nero should work. i have version 7.0.1 or something like that and it's working just fine. maybe it's time to update your version of acrobat? or try the software in compatibility mode? you might want to try that for your version of nero as well.
as far as your tungsten goes: all i did was go to the manufacturer's website and found this:
a little research and some software updating and you should be able to run vista without a hitch. i personally researched for 6 months before i installed a beta version of vista to see if i would even like it.
