what is ccApp program

hi

having this problem when i am trying to log out and shut down the computer.  I have xp.  when i log out this box comes up saying that this program is trying to end.  either wait or end it and you may lose any unsaved material.  well i let it end itself and then the computer stalls and will not log out or shut down at all.  What's going on?  Onlystarted doing this after i updated my norton stuff yesterday.  Any suggestions? thanks

ccApp is runs the auto-protect feature of Norton. Maybe another update from Symantec (makers of Norton) will fix the problem.

If the process won't end on its own, end it yourself and let the computer finish the shutdown routine. If your computer won't shut off, hold down the power button until it shuts off.

ccApp is Norton Security antivirus program installed in your computer. It runs on your computer at the background all time and checks for viruses.

Since you updated it, it is scanning based upon the current virus database which was not scanned earlier on your computer. Your problem should be resolved on its own.

In case it dosen't, go to start, type CMD. Press enter.
    Type in MSCONFIG, press enter.
A window will pop up. Click on the start up option tab on the extreme right hand.
Uncheck all programs except ccApp.Click ok.Restart computer, check the pop up msg.We are doing this to close all non req programs running on the background, for which Anti Virus is running.
Guess this should solve your problem.
    Please`let me know what happens.
