windows 8 not activated after reinstall
I bought yesterday an OptiPlex 7010 with windows 8. Product key is in the bios as I have read on the internet. Due to a crash of the os I had to reinstall windows 8 using the operating system cd included in the package. I have booted from dvd. After a clean reinstallation the os is not activated and I can not do anything about it because no product key is available. What should I do? I have wasted a lot of hours already

Download and run rweverything and get the product key from the ACPI/MSDM tab, then enter that key at the activation screen. Keep in mind that there are three versions of Windows 8 with different and incompatible licensing: Windows 8, Windows 8 Pro, and Windows 8 Enterprise. You MUST have installed the version that matches your key/license.
