Windows update 929729

Alright i've been trying to figure this out on my own and obviously i haven't figured it out. So i was doing updates as normal (download but let me install option). When this update (929729) .NET framework version 1.1 service pack 1 keeps erroring out with error code 643. I've disabled Msconfig non MS services and startups. Nothing. i've uninstalled my whole anti virus (firewall reasons). Nothing...anybody have this issue? what did you do? thanks for your help

Yesterday I installed a .NET update ( 929916) with no problems, not sure if you can install that and get the problem solved.

Ok..here's another question..as I'm reviewing what updates were installed over the past couple of days, I'm noticing that there was a Security Update for MS.Net framework V.2.0 (KB929916)installed on 7/12 and it installed successfully..could this be the reason that the other will not install?

It could be... Sometime framework makes some problems, once I had a problem installing Office, after uninstall it and install it again the problem was solved... Try to u ninstall it and use your computer without it. if everything work, try reinstalling that update...

I think I didn't explained myself so well. I wanted to say type on the search box Programs and Features, this will populate a list with that option. Just if you are using the classic view, you shouldn't see it.

Go to start, type Programs and Features, and click on the option.
On the left up corner, you´ll see an option View Installed Updates, look the update you wan to uninstall, double click it, and it will start to uninstall it

Ok...thanks!  There is no "Programs and Features" option in Vista from the start menu, but if I go in through the control panel to view the installed updates and double click..that works (I had tried to find an option here already, just didn't double click!)

Ok..I see what you're saying..we still kind of ended up the same place.

Let me ask this since I'm not terrible computer savvy..The Net Framework 1.1 is listed on my program list..if I uninstall it from there, will it cause me issues?   This was the version originally installed when i did the Vista upgrade..and not really an " security update" I'm assuming..
