You should NEVER install something that you don't understand.  You have SPYWARE.

Go to www.lavasoftusa.com .  Download AdAware.  Install it, open it, UPDATE IT, run it.  Delete everything that it finds.  Note - download the FREE version.

Go to http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx .  Download Microsoft AntiSpyware.  Install it, open it, UPDATE IT, run it.  Delete everything it finds.

    chantillylace,

Winfixer is spyware, and a particularly pesky version at that.  Follow these instructions to remove it:

thank you so much for the info!  against my better judgement, I did install it, but after being pormpted to 'pay', for this so called free thing.... I uninstalled it.

I do have adaware already on my computer, but I hadn't run in about a week. something I should have considered when I the first red flag was raised in my mind......lol

I ran adaware, hopefully this fixes it from popping up again.

    again...THANK YOU!
