WinHlp32.exe
I have an old XP Program that needs old Help. On Windows 7 I installed WinHlp32.exe as recommended by Microsoft once I found out from the Microsoft community that your computer must have Internet Explorer set as default browser for download to work. Using same trick on Windows8 program downloads but will not run. It says "update not applicable for your computer" I have a 6 month old 64 bit Dell Inspiron 660 . Any ideas?

Cannot install WinHlp32.exe to make my old reliable program work since 10 month old Inspiron N411Z factory installed Windows 7 doesn't pass Microsoft validation process serving up error "This version of the Windows Genuine Advantage validation tool is no loner supported. Please download the newest version and ensure that your system clock is accurate" The only other version is for WindowsXP. So the validation process is between the help file needed to run my program and my computer.
