XP Power Options
I have my monitor set to turn off after 15 mins of inactivity. Lately, the monitor has been powering back up without any input from me. Last night I changed the settings to turn off after 5 mins of inactivity and when the 5 mins had elasped the monitor did not go into standby. This problem just started within the past few days. Did a clean install of XP about two months ago and haven't had any problems until now. Just curious if anyone else has encountered this problem with the monitor not going into standby after the time is selected in the Power Options box.

The system (Windows) is detecting some type of interrupt activity that is "telling" it to wake up. This could be a flakey wired or wireless mouse, a wireless keyboard or some other wireless device, a program, possibly some internet activity, etc. It will take a little bit of time tracking it down but you will have to try and find what is causing the "wake up".
