XP SP2 Hard Disk Problems

I have a Dimension 4400 which has been running Windows XP with SP1 with no problems. After installing SP2, I began to get registry related errors which appeared to be disk related. Running chkdsk yielded numerous errors.

I reinstalled XP and applied SP2 and got the same results.

I then Installed XP with SP1 and all the updates and everything is working fine.

Is there a driver upgrade I need to do before applying SP2?

Thanks,

John

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/sp2/sp2_whattoknow.mspx Have you read through the information here? Also go to Product Support at the top of the forum and click on Downloads and Drivers and make sure you are current.  What BIOS Version are you running?  You may want to check on this also. It is also important that you are running a clean system-no spyware/malware/adware or viruses.
