XPS 8900, no cold boot

Every time, when first switch on the computer, the dell logo comes on and the activity becomes steady and does not bootup. (this started a few weeks ago)

I had to depress the button to switch off the computer.

Once the computer is off, depress the button again ( second time) and the computer comes on and off immediately.

Depress the button again (third time) the computer bootsup normally.

All diagnostic tests for Dell and Windows showed normal. Updates current.

your kind comments, please

Thanks Ivan

    Thanks, Vic and RoHe.

Turned off fast startup worked. Problem solved.

    PS. CR2032 renewed last month.

Try turning off Fast Startup. Go to 'All settings', 'System', 'Power & sleep', click on the 'Additional power settings' link on the right, click on 'Choose what the power buttons do', and then under 'Shutdown settings' uncheck 'Turn on fast startup (recommended)'.

When was last time you replaced the CR2032 motherboard battery? Check Service Manual for details.

I'd start there before going any further, if nothing else than to rule the battery out for only ~$2.
