RTC reset

I switched off my laptop and connected it to charge.

I then pressed the power button until the led close to the charging port started blinking

The led blinks red 3 times then white continuously.

It has been doing so for more than 30 minutes now...

I don't know how long the process is suppose to take.

I did RTC reset hoping it will solve the issue I'm facing with wi-fi ( available networks are not showing).

But it has been blinking and making a noise for a while now...I don't know if this is a problem

The exact model number of your laptop is needed to offer any help.

A RTC reset removes provisioning put into the firmware by Dell.  It is not really meant for troubleshooting Wi-Fi problems.

In addition to the model number, do you have a link to the process you followed?

That blink code is a bit confusing but if you are seeing 3 amber then 1 white, that would indicate an RTC battery failure. Those codes can be found in the service manual here. If that code happened after you tried an RTC reset, are you sure you installed the CMOS battery properly assuming you removed it (meaning it could be upside down).
