A few weeks ago, I started having problems with my LCD screen. I would have keyboard lights, but no video. The LED in front started blinking 2 amber and 7 white. This is a code for an LCD cabling or LCD problem. I ran the diagnostics and received the following error 2000-0415 validation code: 73438 Cables - Check the following cable, jumper, connector or sensor: LCD cable. I don't believe that it is a board problem, as I am able to hook up an external monitor. I have been in IT long enough to know with the constant opening and closing of the screen, sometimes the cables get crimped, or worse, worn and cut. Does anyone have a good link to show where the cable is located and how to replace it? If that doesn't seem to be the right solution, please feel free to suggest something different.
Before undertaking any replacement, try running a display diagnostic (hold the D key through powerup). You should see a series of self-test screens. If you do not, the display is faulty.
If you do see those tests, proceed to check the cable connection to the mainboard (the one to the display side isn't accessible). It may be the cable has worked loose. If not, replace the display assembly.

The cable is part of the display assembly, which cannot be disassembled -- if the cable is damaged, the display assembly needs to be replaced.
