Alienware Aurora 16 warning
I purchased an Alienware Aurora 16. It came with a 500w PSU and a NVidia RTX 4060 TI. Now I need something with better graphics capability, so I bought RTX5080 from another supplier and I purchased a 1000w PSU from Dell. The PSU they sent fits perfectly in place of the old one, but it has an issue. The CPU1 and CPU2 cables are about 1/3 the length of my existing one. I have contacted Dell support and sales trying to get this issue resolved. I keep getting told that is how the PSU comes. There is no extension cable either as the PSUs are proprietary. After a great deal of horrible treatment by all but one representative for over a week, a supervisor called me back. He was unhelpful either. I have been informed that Dell does not make an Alienware Aurora 16 with a 1000w power supply. I took a screenshot of that particular version of the series that proves that they do. The 1000w PSU is also linked to from several places on Dells website that state it is a direct replacement/compatible upgrade. This supervisor told me that I should return the 1000w PSU and then they could send me a 500w. After more arguing I was told in plain in simple terms, "You can upgrade, but we don't recommend it on our end". For decades I have been a loyal customer to Dell. I have been directing friends, family, and customers to Dell. So far this whole ordeal makes me feel like I have wrong in doing that. It seems to me that Dell makes it extremely difficult to upgrade the computers with their proprietary items, like the PSU. By doing this and recommending against upgrading, it tells me that if you want to upgrade, you have to buy a whole new PC. This speaks volumes about customer entrapment, purposefully misleading advertisements by telling you that you can upgrade and even giving you links to purchase those said upgrades. They even offered to send out a technician to come look at the machine at my expense as it is no longer in warranty. I have no need for a technician, I do that as part of my job for a rather large employer. I have explained the problem, I have sent pictures of the issues and in Return I receive exceptionally rude customer service and told that it is my fault for ordering the part as it wasn't assisted be a sales agent. This horribly sours my belief that Dell can provide good machines and good customer service. Just as an Example I will include a picture of the PSU's together. My original is on the bottom, the replacement is on top. It is easy to see the length difference of the forementioned cable. So here is the warning. If you want a good computer that has the ability to be upgraded in the future, then Alienware might not be the type of system you need. I so not know if my brand loyalty will ever recover, and I would not even wish an experience like this to my worst enemy. So please remember, caveat emptor or Let the Buyer beware. I will not be surprised if this post gets removed quickly because I stated my experience and my opinion. I do hope they don't as it is covered by "Freedom of Speech".

Your "freedom of speech" is strictly governed by the Dell Community Forum Code of Conduct which all agreed to when joining our Dell Community Forum.
That being said, you did not violate the Dell Community Forum Code of Conduct. For example, you did not use any profanity or solicit users to act against Dell.
You are correct. The Aurora R16 was validated with the following OEM 1000W PSU =
43YPM Acbel PCM010-240G
H5XKY Acbel PCM010-241G
G6K9K Delta DPS-1000AB-18 B
RD0G0 Delta DPS-1000AB-18 A

I found this. I do not know if Dell Spare Parts can sell it. The link below goes to eBay.
RNHJX 750/1000, PSU, Power Extension, GFX, 590mm (XPS 8960, Aurora R15/R16/ACT1250, Tower Plus EBT2250, Tower E0T2250)

IMO, anyone who buys an Alienware with the idea that they have a great upgrade path hasn't been paying attention.
I would advise doing your research BEFORE the purchase.
