I'm no Aurora expert after having bashed my R8 so much and it's basically boot up once every 2 weeks because I'm too lazy to move my photos HDD that wife wants me to download to from the DSLR.

Anyways, here's what I think for BEASTLY setup.

  1. Change RAID to AHCI in BIOS if Dell still ships it in wimpy RAID mode. You want the AHCI beast unleashed. Since you are well versed with PC building, I will not bore you with details on how to do this without tanking Win10 boot. If you're not sure, Google "RAID to AHCI no reformat".
  2. Congrats you still need to wipe clean the boot SSD despite #1. Before you do that, get a USB thumb drive and go to Microsoft website to create a Win10 install disk on that drive. Also, get a copy of your network card driver to the thumb drive.
    1. Proceed to wipe your SSD and plug in to install "non-Dell" Win10.
    2. You'll be left buck naked because you can't get online to download drivers. That's where you want to use that copy of the network card driver you saved.
    3. Let Windows Update download all the other drivers you need.
  3. The only Dellware you want to have is Alienware Command Center and OC Control. Well, actually you only need AWCC to do the AlienFX color thing. Install OC Control anyways to stop the incessant bugging you get from AWCC.
  4. Now time to beast things up:
    1. CPU
      1. Install XTU. Once you do that, you actually have 2 competing XTUs running on your system because OC Control is XTU with a sad sad interface to kneecap power users. I haven't gotten this to work before so you'll just have to load XTU manually on boot AFTER AWCC loads up to override the OCC settings with your XTU profile.
    2. GPU
      1. Use DDU to remove the NVIDIA drivers Windows Update downloaded for you. Then go to NVIDIA page (please don't do that in the next 24-36 hours because all of us will be whacking their servers to know whatever we can about RTX 3090) and download the latest Game Ready Driver.
      2. Install MSI Afterburner. Unlock voltage limit. Push power, temp, and voltage limits to the max. Play with VF curve, get lock on 1.068V, overclock to brink of stability (both GPU and VRAM), then dial back a notch.
  5. Hardware
    1. Fans upgrade if you want to. Seeing you went R8 --> R11 means you're happy with what Dell gives you.
    2. See if modular PSU cables are plugged in but unused. Remove them and store in box to clear up space for airflow.

Run some benchmarks. Post them here. Enjoy!

Hi, @FinalTouch68

I also ordered an Dual RTX 2080 Ti Alienware Aurora R11, but they told me that the order is delayed because the GPUs are not available.

Could you share when you order your machine and when it was shipped?

Best
