Aurora R15, add second M.2 SSD
I would like to add a second SSD to my desktop; however, it is missing the thermal pad and mounting screws for installing a second M.2 SSD. Can someone please suggest how I can obtain them?

You have to purchase the m.2x3 screws separately. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B085FS82BN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The motherboard only has the standoff studs. There is no thermal pad, the stick sits on top of the standoff and the mounting screws goes into the studs.

The Dell-thermal pad that comes with the 1st M2 SSD is not really needed. You can just remove it like a sticker. I would mount a black heatsink on both SSDs so you have a clean look and good temperatures. For the heatsink on the first SSD you would have to remove the small Dell-thermal pad anyway for proper fit. The mounting screw is provided with the SSD normally. Be aware that the "screws" on the motherboard are actually spacers where you mount the screws. I installed a second M2 SSD and black heatsinks too in my R15:

Thank you for the information - Dell support simply said, "We don't sell screws" nor did they offer the link as you did to where screws could be bought - a $2000 system, and you'd think they'd chuck in a 'screw' oh well.. . I'll have ''Enough" screws to last for awhile now.. SDD coming from Crucial (Dell is WAY TOO EXPENSIVE)

Thanks for this thread. I meant to get two drives, but I only got one when I ordered. I installed a 2GB HDD, but I want an SDD, but I was a little nervous about what to do. I'd rather not mess with my C drive, but the D drive I will add. And you aren't kidding about pricing -- their 4TB drive is almost a grand! I think you can find it cheaper.

Shop around, should not be more than $300 USD for a reputable brand name drive. The M2 2280 WD SN850X 4 TB is less than $300 USD on Amazon right now, from the official WD store.
Not saying that one will work, just saying it likely will work.
I have the SN 850 1 TB and it's a very good drive.
