I put a R7 board in NZXT phantom 530 (white case).
the R7 chassis barebone without AW plastic skin and top vent is shockingly small oem metal case with imo poorly designed metal swing arm used in multiple models of that time (R5-R12, XPS8910-30). When asked if I would like to have the chassis I firmly passed it.
The board was offered to me as compensation for a pc repair project and the original owner moved its 8700k+1080gtx to a different board. I got the R7 board with AIO and fans. I put in my i3-8100 from a broken HP pc and connected NZXT pwr cable to two pins of R7 led header and reset cable to clear cmos pins (iirc). I recall each time pc is turned off I had to clear cmos by pressing reset then press power button to turn on pc. A quirk of swapping R7 in non Dell case. It must not like the two pin power switch set up and can only accept one power on action each time, requiring a reset to do it again. That was my hunch.

Brief retrospect of Aurora:
R1-R4 (traditional metal case, mATX, rear 120mm AIO)
R5-R8 (new metal case/swing arm psu contraption, top 120mm AIO) mATX, nonstandard front panel, standard ATX psu
R9-R12 (new plastic shell/new LED built on same metal chassis) mATX nonstandard front panel, standard ATX psu
R13, 14(AMD), 15, 15AMD (proprietary nonstandard motherboard/psu)
R16-“17” (proprietary nonstandard motherboard/psu)

@Razorbackn1fan drop a photo of the X Tower radiator housing so we can see where you are headed. I am using a simple EXT from Liquidhaus

@ProfessorW00d That case looks NASTY!! cant wait to see your spin on this beauty. Whats going in and is it totally open skeletonized? I see a lot of potential on this.
Is there feet or is it a lock in base concept?

@ProfessorW00d
The original Cooling X Tower / Razorback designs can be found on Thingiverse. Full credit goes to the original creator.
I’m working on a redesign to better suit my use case, removing unused features and simplifying certain areas while keeping the core functionality intact.
Once finished, I’ll release the updated version so others can print and modify it as needed.
