Aurora-R7, front fan, clicking noises

Hi Thanks in advance for any help.

I bought an Alienware Aurora R7 a few weeks back, it works great, runs everything smoothly. However the last couple of days the fans seem to be making a squeaking/clicking noise from the front of the machine. I have manually reduced the fan speed but it still makes a noise. I have opened up the case and the noise come from the front of the machine. Any ideas of what I should do? The fans can be loud but this clicking/squeaking noise doesn't sound right.

Any changes you make to the hardware could void your warranty. Contact Support before doing any repairs yourself. It could be an easily solved problem or not a problem at all. If it does require any hardware replacement, Dell will authorize it.

Luckily for you, the front fan is the easiest one to replace.

Amazon has fans that are much more quiet and perfectly compatible (Noctua), they will fit right into the housing without an issue. The process requires not much more than removing your graphics card (if a bigger performance one that takes up most of the space), removing fan housing from the inside front of the case. Installing new fan, put graphics card back in, and enjoy your R7.

I wouldn't bother with Dell in regard to the front fan.

I would replace mine with an aftermarket if I needed to. Lots of people do it anyways as a subtle upgrade.
