Aurora-R7, Replacement Part 3117, Lighting System

Yes, over the years ... other Aurora R5/R6/R7 owners have occasionally posted about those fragile contact-pins getting damaged.

After you get the new part installed (with perfect contacts), try to always:
- Properly align and fully seat the bottom of cover in lower groove
- Press the top of cover straight towards machine, snapping into place
- Don't be in a hurry and don't force it
- If it doesn't feel right ... remove slightly and start over

I usually do any cover removal/re-installs with power OFF.

Yeah those pins/contacts are delicate. Do you happen to know where I can order a part?

31117 is not appearing in the parts tool as a separate part. Page 30 shows us that 31117 is included with the right side cover? Look on that side cover for part number NDP7T. You should also private message Alienware - Rodrigo to get further assistance.

Your looks repairable.

Carefully re-form that end-pin ... with a magnifying-glass, plenty of light, and needle-nose pliers ... obviously with power-off and unplugged. 

did you ever find a place to buy this? I broke one of the tabs off today replacing the power supply

I need to purchase this part as well.  Please some one help me.  Dell chat was less than helpful even when I sent them a clear picture of this part.
