Aurora R8, BIOS installation question
Hello,
I have an Alienware Aurora R8 with a bios version 1.0.17 and I wanted to update it to the latest version 1.0.30, but the important information says I have to update to 1.0.26 first. When I try to download 1.0.26 it only has an rcv file (which I don’t know what to do with) instead of an exe file. Would there be a guide on how to update or if it’s still necessary to update to 1.0.26 first, because windows update is already showing 1.0.30 bios as an optional update for me.
Thanks

Usually, on a BIOS page, the first file is for executable and the second file is for recovery, see the screengrab below. Here is the executable file for Alienware_Aurora_R8_1.0.26.exe.
When it comes to BIOS update, many preferences have been suggested and it's up to users to decide. You can either do stepping update, or just go straight to the latest one.
