Playstation does not work with Alienware Keyboard 510K

Alienware Keyboard 510K does not work with Sony Playstation 4. The keyboard lights up, USB passthrough with mouse attached works fine, but Playstation doesnot recognizes the keyboard or accepts input.

Keyboard does work on PC and Xbox.

Any tips or  workarounds?

For PS4, the keyboard needs to be set to "bios" mode. However, not all keyboards support bios mode and this is one of them. I don't think there's much you can do.

We have a PS4, so this is actually slightly intriguing.

I'm not sure how knowledgeable you are about this little project, however ...

I think I would first try a "simpler" wired USB-Keyboard. One that is not programmable, and also a "standard, non lighted one" that doesn't require so much power from USB port.

Finally, i thought for this to work, you had to use one of those little "programmable gaming-console interfaces" that you see being sold.

I suggest you stick to keyboards that are known to work with the PS4.

I'm not even going to recommend (a nice lighted-gaming-one) since I don't have that selection criteria. However, I will say ... for good after-market or retail keyboards (for computers) I've had good luck with Logitech ones.
