Aurora + GTX 295
Interested in using this video card in the Aurora. Anyone have that configuration and what do you think of the noise level? Supposedly it's one of the noisiest cards in the market but am interested in how well the case and cooling system masks it. I hate excessive noise. I'm not interested in the Radeons and the next step down in the Nvidias is the 260 which would give me a big performance hit. Thanks!

I have an Aurora with the GTX 295. I honestly don't know what you're talking about and have never heard anything about noise. My sysyem is whisper quiet (except for a few seconds to start with on a cold boot) so my response would be not to worry about it. If you can wait for one month, the next generation of Nvidia GPU is supposed to be released on March 10th. Supposedly this will slaughter the 295 by a factor of two (I'm already regretting my decision to have paid for the 295 this close to a major upgrade -- oh well -- I'll happily sell you my 295 on March 11th :).

Thanks for the reply. Here's an example of what I've found, with charts:

'When running a game, also, the GTX 295 is among the loudest cards we tested.'

I would agree with that. My friend has a 295 and its way louder than my 5870, he has a home built system though so its not exactly a scientific comparison as he obviously has different case / cpu cooling fans than I do on my Aurora.
