MY Alienware M14XR2 KEEPS SHUTTING OFF WHEN I PLAY GAMES!
Hi,
I bought this alienware 15 about 1 year ago, it works fine.
One day i got 2 high definition games (call of duty: ghost and watch dogs)
They work fine for about 5 minutes and then my computer just shuts of...
I've tried everything that i know, i've asked my friend they said they just bought a new laptop.
I think it has something to do with my fan or my computer heating up.
Please help! :(
PC Specs:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3630QM CPU@ 2.40 GHz 2.40 GHz
Installed Memory (RAM): 8.00 GB (7.87 GB usable)
System Type: 64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor

Download and install Geforce Experience, then update your GPU driver.
Check if your game is using the Nvidia Geforce or the Intel video card?

Hi!
You're right, it could be an overheating problem. I recommend you start monitoring the CPU and GPU temperatures during stress (games) using HWmonitor. You should also run an ePSA hardware diagnostic and an AlienAutopsy gaming test.
If the temperatures are not the problem, you could try a clean installation of the video driver as explained here. We recommend you use the Dell driver from the Support website.
Let me know how it goes!
