15 R3, downgrade from BIOS 1.8.0
I have an Alienware 15 R3 that I accidentally updated BIOS to 1.18.0. Now I want to download BIOS 1.8.0 again. I can see it online, I just followed the steps to download it, but it still doesn't work. It runs to "" EC firmware update " then it turns off and reboots into Windows.

Dell has determined that having installed BIOS version 1.18.0, users will be prevented from downgrading BIOS to version 1.9.2 or earlier due to their imposed downgrade restrictions. The Embedded Controller (EC) firmware update (FW) version is now the same as the EC FW version noted in the BIOS release notes.
To find out what the EC version is on your device, press F2 during start to enter BIOS Setup and look for the line: EC FW Version.
