17 R4, booting problem
When I startup my Alienware 17 R4 today as usual it does not go to Windows, instead, there is a warning "checking media presence" and "no media present". Then I tried the diagnosis function in the BIOS page. There was one error shown which the cpu fan does not respond. I'm wondering if the booting failure is caused by the fan or something else.

Try Setting the Boot mode to UEFI and Secure-Boot Enabled.
That should fix it if you put it on legacy instead of UEFI.
