17 R5, Command Center Crash and Memory Leak
When I installed the latest update of the Alienware Command Center (5.2.106.0, A00), the application would not open, crashing before it could reach the home screen. Additionally, the memory usage of the AWCC.Background.Server.exe background task would gradually increase over time, leading me to believe that something related to the crash caused a memory leak.
I have already tried a fresh install of the latest version, but that did not fix the problem. Uninstalling the latest version and downgrading to the previous one (5.2.100.0, A00), however, does resolve the problem. For the time being, I've disabled automatic updates so I remain on that version.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix the issue, or is this a problem Dell has to fix for the next update?

Hi @hallb1016 our 17 R5 MLK refresh also has problems with the AWCC. There are no AWCC Home or FX tabs, and AlienFX 2.0 applications are not installed. There is no AlienFX 2.0 recovery application, and SupportAssist has no detect AlienFX devices troubleshooting. This Dell AWCC application is rubbish, and should be standalone so that Windows Updates do not impair its function. This is Dell's flagship to attract new customers. Unfortunately Dell do not know how to fix their problem. Users are constantly told wait for the next update, and these updates do not work. Our expensive Alienware Gaming Laptop is a constant disappointment.
