Alienware Command Center / Support Assist
Hello all,
I recently restored to factory my Ryzen R5 M15. After three or so attempts and restores, finally got everything working more or less the same as it was before and updated to Windows 11.
Prior to this, Alienware Command Center was integrated into a shell that included Support Assist (and some other options) giving you the option to select either when it started (wish I had a screen shot to show). Now, it seems Command Centre and Support Assist are separate applications and Support Assist almost always delivers an error when using Get Drivers & Downloads (ie: An unexpected error occurred. Please try again). As well, and more often then not, the dell site automation to find drivers also fails. So, not sure if I have everything up-to-date. I want to perhaps attempt a removal an re-install but it seems difficult to determine what the latest versions are from the support page. Example, I have Alienware Support Assist installed version 3.13.0.236. If I look for that on the driver/downloads support page, I only see a critical update for Dell Update/Alienware Update Application version 4.6. Is it the same? It seems there is also Dell/Alienware update Universal Application version 4.7. Is that the same? Its seems it's all over the place lol
Just wondering what everyone's experience has been if you've done a factory restore and need to ensure everything is up to date.

Hi @CTM_M15_R5 welcome to this free user-to-user Alienware laptop discussion forum.
Support for Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition R5 Drivers & Downloads includes Alienware Command Center Application version 5.5.35.0 Alienware Command Center Application | Driver Details | Dell US.
The Dell SupportAssist application is available from SupportAssist for Home PCs | Dell USA, and version 3.13.0.236 is installed on my PC.

Thanks, I appreciate that.
I did end up reinstalling the SupportAssist and that functions now.
For the Command Center application, I had to go back to the full install option and use this one Alienware-Command-Center-Application-Full-Installer_62FVX_WIN_5.5.35.0_A00.EXE as the one you mentioned would not install at all. It's the same version it seems. However, both are still separate applications and not under on shell app where you could access both. That's a bit perplexing. Still, functionality has returned.
